Evangelical leader quits after gay sex allegation
Ted Haggard denies man's claim that he paid for sex, drugs over 3 years

Pastor Ted Haggard, head of the multi-million member National Association of Evangelicals, named one of the most influential Evangelicals in America by Time magazine, the leader of the 30 million-member National Association of Evangelicals.... a vocal opponent of same-sex marriage, resigned Thursday after being accused of paying for sex with a man in monthly trysts over the past three years.

The Rev. Ted Haggard, a married father of five who has been called one of the most influential evangelical Christians in the nation, denied the allegations.

His accuser, Denver resident Mike Jones, refused to share with The Associated Press voice mails that he said backed up his allegation, stating that he is having them reviewed by a voice analyst. Jones further claimed that Haggard paid him for methamphetamines....

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I saw Mr Haggard disrespectfully and arrogantly throw his "beliefs" at a very respectable and credible Richard Dawkins. It sickens me to see anybody much less an evangelist treat anybody the way he did. I could not have laughed any harder than when I read this article about Mr Haggard. Ted Haggard is an arrogant, fear producing, money monger that preys on the ignorance of a confused nation. He cheated on his wife to have an affair with a gay.

If Haggard were a CPA for the church and he got caught stealing or deliberately misappropriating funds he would undoubtedly be subject to criminal prosecution. Haggard is a CON-MAN, i.e. a liar and a thief. If is church elders had any integrity they would file charges and/or sue him for his actions. Haggard is a horrible role model for children and adults.

When will you people who constantly get fleeced  by Ted Haggard types wake up? How many scandals of this type by individuals who call themselves Christian leaders have to happen before those of you who support them financially, get a clue? It constantly amazes me how people can so willingly be led like sheep to a slaughter when religion is involved. I always thought the Creator gave you a mind to think with vs. being a  non-thinking robot.
