How Do You Make Doughnuts Better? Add Caffeine
... That cup of coffee just not getting it done anymore? How about a Buzz Donut or a Buzzed Bagel? That's what Dr. Robert Bohannon, a Durham molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon said he developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.... While the product is not on the market yet, Bohannon has approached some heavyweight companies, including Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks about carrying it....
the title should have been... "How to Make KK Doughnuts Even Less Healthy"... love some KK doughnuts but i wouldn't touch one of these... you've gotta draw the line somewhere...
Its sacrilege to suggest KK doughnuts are unhealthy.
If you're going to indulge in a sinful donut, why on earth would you not want the steaming cup of coffee to go with it? It's madness!!!
Madness is right! As if you don't crave donuts already. Can you imagine getting a headache if you don't eat a donut? That soon becomes a catch 22.

This just means my donut and coffee in the morning will be the equivalent of three cups of coffee. I see no problem here.
a good time saver... just grab a donut... no coffee needed...
There's enough caffeine in various foods/drinks as it is. I don't need anymore. LEAVE the doughnut alone. I like my doughnuts just the way they are thank you very much.
why stop at doughnuts! we could add it to pasta noodles, steak and even salad!
that would severely hurt the energy drink market though.
Yikes! They should put caffeine in all alcohol so I don't fall asleep when I drink. ;)
I'm okay with it, as long as the taste isn't bad. I had some caffeinated gum the other day... dreadful.
There is a GOD!!!! I bet police forces from around the country will be endorsing this idea!!!
