She could always have it worse... she could have woke up with that scary looking king in her bed.
Another reason why debit cards are a bad idea: this screwup directly attacked her bank account balance.
If it had been a real credit card, all it would have done was post a charge which would get reversed immediately. No big harm done.
It also speaks to the big problem of charge refunds and reversals. The card processors are super quick to put through a charge, but it can take weeks to process a refund or reverse. This is not a fair system.
