I remember a story from many years ago about a man that dug an underground house on (in) land owned by a Boy Scout council for their summer camp. He'd lived there for years and was only discovered when he popped up out of the entrance in front of a troop on a nature hike. I think it was on an island in Massachusetts but can't find the story
