
It's no secret that record breaking swimmer Michael Phelps had hip hop pulsing through his iPod before every race at the Olympics in Beijing.
Young Jeezy, whose tracks "I Got What it Takes" and "Go Getta" with R. Kelly were cited by Phelps as two of the songs he used for motivation, says his camp has reached out to the swimmer's reps to organize a formal introduction in the near future.
Lil' Wayne's "A Milli," Rick Ross' "Hustlin" and Jay-Z's "Hello Brooklyn" were also mentioned by Phelps as pre-race motivation.
"The music transforms him," wrote Crouse in the Times profile. "His goofy grin dissolves into a glower, his eyes turn cold as ice. The hip-hop beats have a hypnotic effect on Phelps, who sometimes, after a race, is unable to recall the songs that locked him into his groove."....
